Is traditional weekly therapy not working for you?
Therapy intensives can be incredibly beneficial if you’re seeking deeper healing or a quicker resolution to your struggles. Unlike traditional therapy sessions, which typically meet on a weekly basis, therapy intensives involve longer, more focused sessions, often over the course of a few days.

Intensive Therapy FAQ
-
Accelerated Healing: With more time spent on addressing your issues in a concentrated way, therapy intensives allow you to make significant progress in a shorter period. This is particularly helpful if you’ve been struggling with trauma, like narcissistic abuse, and want to dive deep into healing quickly.
Deeper Exploration: The extended sessions provide more opportunity to explore your emotions, experiences, and patterns in greater depth. You can focus on multiple aspects of your healing without the pressure of time running out, which can often happen in a regular weekly session.
Focused Attention: In an intensive, there’s a more immersive experience where the I am fully dedicated to helping you work through specific issues. You can address a variety of concerns in a single session or over a few days, which might be harder to do with weekly check-ins.
Personalized Approach: Therapy intensives often allow for a more customized experience. I can tailor the sessions to your specific needs, helping you address exactly what’s most pressing in your life, whether it’s understanding narcissistic abuse dynamics, setting boundaries, or rebuilding your confidence.
Increased Motivation and Commitment: The condensed, focused nature of an intensive session can often reignite your motivation to continue your healing journey. You’ll likely leave with new insights, strategies, and a sense of empowerment that can fuel your progress.

A therapy intensive is a concentrated, immersive form of therapy that involves longer or more frequent sessions, often held over a period of days or a weekend, rather than the typical weekly sessions. These intensives are designed to help you make significant progress in a shorter amount of time. They allow you to dive deeply into your issues, such as trauma, relationship struggles, or emotional healing, with focused, uninterrupted time.
During a therapy intensive, you may meet for several hours each day, or over multiple consecutive days, depending on the specific program. This approach can be especially helpful if you’re facing a crisis, experiencing intense emotional distress, or looking to fast-track your healing process. The therapist uses the extended time to address your concerns in depth, provide tailored interventions, and equip you with tools to continue your healing journey.
The key benefit of a therapy intensive is that it allows for rapid progress, more focused work, and often quicker breakthroughs than standard weekly therapy. It’s ideal for individuals looking to process and heal from deep-seated issues or those who prefer a more accelerated approach to therapy.

Unlike weekly therapy sessions, which generally last 45-60 minutes, therapy intensives are much longer and condensed into a few days or a weekend. This gives you uninterrupted time to focus on your issues and make significant progress, whereas regular sessions may be spread out over months. Intensives allow you to dive deeper into your work in a short amount of time.
-
For many people, therapy intensives can lead to faster breakthroughs due to the concentrated nature of the work. It’s not necessarily about being "better" than traditional therapy, but rather offering a more immersive experience that can accelerate healing, especially if you are dealing with current or post separation narcissistic abuse

Intensives can be scheduled as one time or recurring depending on your needs and goals. Costs are dependent on your specific program 3hrs in 1 day, 3 90min sessions across the week) as well as when the intensive is scheduled (weekdays vs weekends). I will give you a specific estimate during a consultation call once I understand what type of program may be most supportive for you.

Most insurance does not cover therapy intensives, but I can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement. You just have to call your insurance and see if they may possibly cover some of the session.

Let me show you how intensive therapy is more effective and efficient than weekly therapy:
Weekly therapy:
10-15 mins checking in
15-20mins processing
10 mins closing
You might spend a month working on one specific stressor, costing around $800 for the 4 weekly therapy sessions.
But realistically, stuff comes up between sessions, you don’t want to work on processing the next session, and session focus week-to-week might shift significantly.
So you might actually be in weekly therapy for multiple months ($1,000 x’s # of months) and still not feel fully resolved in the thing causing you stress right now.
Intensive therapy:
10-15 minutes of checking in, establishing session focus
60 minutes of Narcissitic Abuse Recovery processing
10-15 minutes closing the session
You might fully resolve one or multiple stressors in 90 minutes, costing around $475. 90 minutes of processing is equivalent to at least double that amount of talk therapy sessions so you’re doing more work, in less time, needing less therapy overall.
You feel better, sooner.
You spend less on symptom-managing medications (that weren’t really working anyway).
You don’t have to keep taking time off of work or paying for childcare to attend your sessions.
Narcissistic Abuse Recovery: Therapy That Meets You Where You Are
Have you ever felt like you’ve just started to open up in a session—just scratched the surface of the pain—and suddenly it’s time to wrap up? Like you’re spending more time talking about your abuser than about yourself?
If that resonates, you’re not alone. Narcissistic abuse recovery is complex and deeply personal, and sometimes traditional weekly therapy just isn’t enough.
That’s where Therapy Intensives come in.
